The Osun State Police Command on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 in a press briefing revealed that Six Armed robbers and murder suspects were arrested for offences ranging from murder, armed robbery, cultism, conspiracy.

The suspects, Akinola Michael ‘M’ (33 years old), Damilola Adebayo ‘M’, (43 years old), Ifedayo Adesina ‘M’ (33years old), Sunday Johnson ‘M’ (36 years old), Obisesan Amos ‘M’ (45 years old), Abdulafeez Shorinmade ‘M’ (23 years old) are currently in the Osun Police Custody.

 

 

 

During the Arrest, a variety of exhibits, including axes, saw blades, spanners, Cars and other manufactured weapons, were found.

Speaking to Journalists at the Osun state police command, the PPRO Osun state SP Yemisi Opalola narrated how the investigation was carried out.

HER WORDS;

“On 4/07/2022 the complainant reported through a petition that, his son one Yakubu Zakariyau ‘m’ now deceased; who was a commercial motorcyclist in Ile-Ife in Osun State and Ibadan, Oyo State left home on the same date at 0930hrs after receiving an urgent call from an unknown number (08100079001) to come and pick him. Since then, he never returned home and efforts made to locate him proved abortive.

“Immediately the report was received, Police Detective from Anti-Kidnapping section swung into action and through diligently and scientifically analyzed intelligence led investigation, the Police Detective was able to arrest one of the suspects, one Akinola Michael in Ibadan.

“He confessed to have jointly killed the deceased with one Alekuso Rotimi ‘m’ now at large at Ogundipe Zone II area, Egbeda L.G.A, Ibadan with hammer and buried him with his phone in a thick forest while his Bajaj motorcycle was taken away by the suspects.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to arrest other conspirators. Suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

SHE EXPLAINS FURTHER;

” On 29/09/2022 at about 0910hrs, the complainant reported at Ibokun Division that, on the same date at about 0230hrs, they were robbed by three armed men who forcefully gain entrance into their respective houses having broken their entrance door with a big stone and dispossessed them of their valuables viz: clothes, shoes, laptop, TV set, different models of handsets and Toyota Camry car with Reg. No. FST 969 GL belonging to Aluko Tolulope, all valued three million, nine hundred and thirty thousand naira (#3,930,000.00).

“Immediately, the case was referred to State CID of the command for discreet investigation and the above suspects were arrested with the said Toyota Camry at Ibadan in Oyo State.

“Meanwhile, effort is ongoing to get other fleeing suspects arrested. Suspects will be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.

“On 8/10/2022 at about 1030hrs, the complainant reported at Oke-Ila Division that, his father one Chief Oladepo Asaolu ‘m’ aged 72 years; left his house at Kereja area, Ora-Igbomina at about 0500hrs of 5/10/2022 with an unknown commercial motorcyclist and yet to return home after four days.

“Immediately the report was received, Police swung into action and through intelligence led investigation, the principal suspect one Sunday Johnson was arrested.

“The arrest of the first suspect led to the arrest of one other suspect named Obisesan Amos. The suspects led Police Detectives to Akisa forest where the victim was killed and dumped.

“The suspects confessed that, they killed the victim in order to inherit his farm land. Both suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.

” On 12/10/2022 at about 2130hrs, this unfortunate incident occurred at Kajola area, Iwo, where one Abdulafeez Shorinmade ‘m’ aged 23 years of Feesu Iwo, suspected to be under the influence of drugs; armed himself with a pair of scissors and stabbed one Rofiyat Rasaki ‘f’ aged 17 years on the neck and she bleed to death.

” Suspect fled the scene and went to Soba compound where he equally stabbed another female victim; one Sawiyu Nasrup aged 18 years on her chin. Upon receipt of the report, the police swiftly moved to the scenes of crime and the suspect was eventually arrested.

The injured victim was rushed to the Hospital, treated and discharged while the corpse of the first victim was taken to general hospital for autopsy. Suspect will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
