Official Spokesperson for APC 2023 Presidential Campaign Council, Festus KEYAMO (SAN) has called for caution as election results is being announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Keyamo issued the statement on his official Twitter Page on Sunday.

He added that the young ones should not be misleaded into believing that winning a part of the country can make candidate a President. He cited the example of 1979 (UPN) and 2011(CPC) when Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Muhammadu Buhari had block votes from their regions yet could not win the presidency.

“At times like this, it’s not a sign of weakness to speak in a cautionary tone to the over-excited ones. Almost all wars in Africa have been triggered by post-election crises. If we don’t restrain ourselves & follow constitutional means to address issues, we shall all be victims.’

“Let’s not mislead the younger ones that a candidate can be President of Nigeria by doing well in only a part of the country & coming up so short in other areas with large voting blocks. Tell them about UPN (1979) & CPC (2011). The North must always have a handshake with the South.”
