The Chairman, Presidental Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption (PACAC), Prof Itse Sagay has dismissed the rumours going round that the EFCC boss has been removed from office.
Since the Senate said they no longer recognise Magu as Acting Chairman of EFCC, it was believed that he has been removed from his official position.
The Senate spoke through its Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The lawmaker had, at a press conference last Thursday, explained that there were massive petitions against the EFCC, but they could not invite Magu because he was no longer regarded as the acting Chairman.

“There are petitions against the EFCC by some Nigerians, but my Committee does not see Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman and that is why he was not invitedâ€, Anyanwu said.
“The 2018 budget is here, we will it as instrument against EFCC for defying Senate resolution on Ibrahim Maguâ€, he submitted.
But in his reaction, Sagay said rumours speculations over Magu’s job should be ignored.

“I am certainly not aware of it and it is untrue. It is certainly untrue, he has not been removedâ€, he told Vanguard.
“It is the rumours of those who wish corruption continues in this country and who want corruption to thrive.
It is wishful thinking, he has not been removed,†Sagay stated.
