Nigerian Army Came To The Rescue Of Ede And Owu Kuta With A Link Bridge Courtesy Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai.
The close to 100 years awaited link bridge between two major Towns in the Osun West, Ede and Owu Kuta got the blessings of the military courtesy, the Chief of Army Staff, Buratai.

He graciously approved the construction of the link bridge between Kuta and Ede Town to be constructed by Nigerian Army Engineers.
The Olowu of Owu Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Wakama who played host to all the Obas and other important dignitaries in his Palace reiterated the importance of the bridge to the economic development of the entire area.
“It is a compassionate appeal to the military as efforts that have been made to construct the bridge in the past 100 years all to no avail.”
The Timi of Ede, Oba Adesola Lawal was in attendance for this important occasion. He said the link bridge is to be of economic benefit to all the indigenes of Ede and Owu Kuta and its environs. We need to pray that the project comes to fulfilment.
The Timi of Ede said, “The plans for the construction of the bridge had been in existence ever before we were born. God’s time is the best, we appreciate the efforts of Wakama Kuta. God has already used the Osun river to separate Ede and Owu Kuta, therefore there is no reason for any conflict between the two towns. This bridge, if finally constructed will give all of us access to important place including Ibadan and boost the economy of the area.”

Present at the Palace of Olowu of Owu Kuta are; Oba Adekunle Oyelude Wakama, Timi of Ede, Oba Muniru Adesola Lawal, Hon Amobi Yinusa, Olu Ile-Ogbo, Oba Adetoyese Agbaje, Baales, religious leaders, political leaders, market women in the two communities who showered praises and prayers on Wakama of Owu Kuta and Chief of Army Staff.
