Nigerian Army To Enforce Ban On Use Of ‘Okada’ In Forests Of Kano, Kaduna, Others – READ FULL PRESS RELEASE

The Nigerian Army has announced its readiness to enforce the ban on the use of motorcycles otherwise known as ‘Okada’ in the Northwest of Nigerian to curb the activities of bandits terrorising the areas.

The states involved in the northwest include, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi and Niger states.

In a Press Release by the Nigerian Army in their official Twitter handle, it says among others that, “The general public particularly in the Northwest and some parts of the North Central in Nigeria where ex HARBIN KUNAMA in ongoing are enjoined to bear with us, NA that concerted efforts are being made to combat insecurity menace ongoing within the area.”

“In this wise, it is hereby reiterated that the use of motorcycles remain banned in the forest areas of KANO, KATSINA, ZAMFARA, SOKOTO, KADUNA, KEBBI and NIGER states. Anyone caught using motocycles in these areas will be taken for armed bandits, criminals and kidnapers with dire consequences.”
