Nigerians are into another seasons of hardships as the Federal Government jerked up petrol pump price from N162.00 to N212.6 on Friday, March 12, 2021.
This is a subsidy of N50.61 per litre since the only importer of the product- the Pipelines Products Marketing Company (PPMC) has not notified marketers on upward review of the pump price, no body is ready to claim responsibility for the increase yet there has been long queue at petrol stations selling for the new price.
The PPPRA has said in a deregulated market, it is only the marketers that peg their product price.
But the Federal Government has insisted through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that there will be no petrol price hike in March.
SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS reporter went to buy fuel on Thursday at a Petrol Station on Gbongan Road, Osogbo with the intention of getting a litre at N162.00 but found out it was N170.00, he quickly rushed to NNPC MEGA PLAZA to fill his tank at N162.00 only for us to wake up today to find out the price has been jerked up to N212.60
What follows after this increment, the future will determine.
