Nigeria’s Super Eagle soar high crushes Iceland 2-0

MUSA: The Nigeria’s Super Eagle did the unthinkable Friday evening when they crushed Iceland 2-0 in their second match in the 2018 World Cup.

The first half was without any action from Nigeria as the Iceland dominated the entire half with Nigeria goalkeeper saving many possible goals for his country.
The Iceland was unable to convert a free kick in the second minute of the match making the entire first half without any action from both sides. It ended in goalless draw.
Nigeria resumed the second half like a wounded lion waiting to devour Iceland at all costs.
The opportunity came from Moses from the right flank who gave an accurate pass to a waiting Musa who did not miss the opportunity as he slotted in past Iceland goal keeper to record first goal for Nigeria 46th minute.
The Iceland was seen to have been overwhelmed with pressures from Nigeria onslaught. In their bid to equalize made them focusing on the attack leaving the defence.
Ahmed Musa took his time to tear the Iceland defence apart before shooting into an empty net 69th minute.
Another terrific shot from Musa hit the bar at the 74th minute.
The Iceland put pressure on Nigeria that earned it a penalty. The penalty was however lost by Gylfi Sigurdsson when he played it over the bar 82nd minute of the game.

THE SECRET WHY MUSA SHINES
Musa must have fulfilled a principle that gave him the day as a Man of the Match. Musa was said to have visited the IDP Camp donating food and cash to the widows and children who showered prayers on him before he left for the World Cup competition in Russia.
Musa has made history as the first Nigerian top scorer with two goals to his credit in a match in World Cup.
Rashidi Yekini of the blessed memory was the first Nigerian player to score in the World Cup.
Friday’s match has given Nigeria an edge over Argentina, Iceland with goals difference.
