The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu boasted that nobody can take away Lagos State from APC but at Federal level all hands must be on deck.
He made this declaration in Ibadan at the launch of N50b Education Trust Fund in Oyo State. He said further that the place of Senator Bola Tinubu could not be waved aside in Nigeria politics, though stubborn but this had paid off for retaining Lagos and making it a mega city today.
He said Tinubu’s stubbornness made him to be the last man standing during the PDP onslaught in the South West.
The monarch also lauded Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s outstanding performance in Lagos, saying that the foundation laid by Tinubu in the state is being built upon by his successors.

The Lagos monarch said: “I am his (Tinubu) father and the father for all and I will continue to be their father. I don’t hide my feelings; nobody can take away Lagos from APC, at the federal level all hands need to be on deck.”
In his address at the event, Governor Abiola Ajimobi said the launching of the education trust fund was part of his administration’s efforts at revamping education in the state.
The fund, according to the governor, was a crucial step at restoring the legacy of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo on quality education. Ajimobi who used the opportunity reel out programmes and achievements of his administration in educational sector in the state said “what we are doing is to empower our people to be able to torch lives.”

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Chairman of the Oyo Education Trust Fund (ETF), Chief (Mrs.) Onikepo Akande implored all and sundry to reflect on the state of education in Oyo State, adding that it became imperative to examine where they were, where they ought to be and how to attain the new target.
It was in that regard that Mrs. Akande stressed that the need for the resuscitation of the lost glory and improvement of the quality of education in the state, hence the idea behind the launch to bring back the glory of education in the state. However, some group of individuals were recognised for their impactful contributions to educational sector in the state.
