The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved 13 additional new courses on full-time mode to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The new courses include B.Tech Fisheries and Aquaculture, BLIS Library and Information Science, and others. The approval was conveyed in a letter dated March 14, 2022 and addressed to the Acting Vice Chancellor (VC), LAUTECH, Prof. Mojeed Liasu.
The NUC, in the letter, stated that the approval of the 13 new courses was based on the resource verification visit by panel of experts to some proposed academic programmes in the institution.
According to NUC, the effective date for the commencement of the programmes is 2021/2022 academic session.
The Acting VC of LAUTECH, while commenting on the development, said it was a welcome development. He said: “We do not intend to take this confidence for granted and we shall continue to play according to the laid down rules.”
