Ogbeni Aregbesola receives another 13 Osun indigenes from Libya slave camp

The Osun State government on Thursday received another batch of 13 Osun indigenes evacuated from the slave camp of Libya in the Middle East by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
This latest development brings to 24 the total number of Osun indigenes rescued so far from Libya, having received 11 persons a few weeks back.

Details of the fresh 13 persons received indicated that five are males, seven females, including a three-month-old baby girl, who were moved to Osogbo on Wednesday from the temporary refugees camp, set up by the federal government inside the Port Harcourt International Airport.
Receiving the returnees, Director of Operations, Osun Emergency Management Agency, Engr. Akin Adetuberu maintained that the state government could not allow them to spend extra time at the airport because of its deep concern for their welfare.
Adetuberu affirmed that Osun State governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola was always concerned about the plight of Osun indigenes within and outside the country, just as he lauded him for his timely response on the transportation of the returnees to Osun.

Welcoming the returnees to the state, Osun State Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Mudashiru Toogun admonished them to always take legal and due process in searching for greener pasture within and outside Nigeria.
Responding on behalf of the returnees, Miss Fashola Moyosore, who claimed to be a native of Ile-Ife expressed the appreciation of the returnees, regarding the prompt step taken to ensure their return to Osun, maintaining that the gesture was a welcome development.
