Olowu of Kuta, HRH Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, Tegbosun iii, called on the President Muhammadu Buhari to consider the State of Osun for a debt relief in this hard times occasioned by the pains inflicted by CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) pandemic.
Oba Makama made the statement while addressing the Press in his Palace in Owu Kuta on Friday, May 1, 2020 on the occasion of Olori Fatima Adeola Makama Oyelude 2nd Community Empowerment Initiatives.
While thanking the Federal Government for the 1,800 bags of rice sent to Osun, the revered monarch however urged the PTF to do more in term of financial assistance such as was rendered to Lagos, Ogun and the FCT in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

He called on the Federal Government for a debt relief.
“State like Osun deserves financial assistance to augment its lean financial resources in order for the state government not to grind to a halt. The Federal Government can also grant debt relief or moratorium for Osun state so as to be on sound footing post COVID-19.” Olowu said.

Meanwhile, Olowu, has also announced that the 2nd Edition of Olori Fatima Adeola makama oyelude annual empowerment program is being flag off today Friday with emphasis on COVID-19 palliatives to support the government as his modest contribution to the well being of Our people during this trying time.
He explained that vulnerable people such as widows, orphans and less privileged in Owu Kuta will be given foodstuffs and various sum of cash to augment their feeding.

“This is our little way of giving back to the society as a royal father and to support our governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who is doing a good job towards improving the wellbeing of our people.” Olowu added.
Over 1,000 inhabitants of Owu Kuta and its environs benefited from the largesse of the revered King. Over six million Naira worth of rice, beans, yams, indomie were distributed.
Beneficiaries of the palliatives shower prayers on the king and his family.
