One of the best Igbo Surgeons Nigeria has ever produced have been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Dr Ezenwa was assassinated on Thursday at Ukpor Nnewi by Unknown Gunmen.
He was visiting his wife’s village, Ukpo in Nnewi South, when he was murdered. His driver was also shot and killed.
Dr Ezenwa was one of surgeons employed by SUREP under president Goodluck Jonathan to improve on the maternal and child health indices in the country.

SureP under Dr Ezenwa traversed the length and corners of all parts of Nigeria to work with rural health personel to train Traditional Birth Attendance, CHEW and Midwifery in selected wards across the country across the 774 LGAs.
He was the MD of St Saviour hospital in Okija, Onitsha, Okpanam in Delta State.
Dr Ezenwa is from Abia State.
