THE Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) Chairman, Hashim ABIOYE on Monday, February 17, 2025 unveiled election materials for the Osun State Local Government election slated for Saturday, February 22, 2025.
While appreciating all the Stakeholders including the media, he unveiled the voting materials which includes, double-edge cubicle, Ballot Box and Ballot Papers.
The cubicle to be used is a departure from the past as the present cubicle accommodates two voters to exercise their voting rights at a time. The ballot box displayed is portable and transparent.
The ballot papers came with secret security features with a scan code attached to a particular Poling Unit that cannot be used in another Poling Booths.
ABIOYE said his fully ready for the election where 18 political parties have signified their readiness to participate except if there is contrary information during the course of the week.
The Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Pastor Victor Akande commended OSSIEC Chairman for a job well done including the new face of the Conference Hall that is now befitting unlike what it used to be.
On behalf of political parties present he gave vote of confidence to OSSIEC on the forthcoming election. He commended Abioye for his transparency and solid preparations.

He however warned OSSIEC
“not to allow any external influence to jeopardize the credibility of the election. We are going for the election on February 22, 2025 come what may. What matter most is peace and progress.
We are giving our maximum support to OSSIEC. 14 political parties were physically represented while APP and PDP are not physically present due to their ongoing court case.”
NYCN applauded the preparation of OSSIEC but appeal for maximum security for the election to protect lives and properties especially the youths.
NOA urged political parties to enlighten their members and promote peace and if their is any discontent, the aggrieved party should approach the court. He suggest work free days before the election.
Present at the display of the materials are the media, representatives of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), National Youth Council, NYC Osun State chapter and 16 political parties.
