The Ekiti State governorship election just took place and ended on Saturday, July 14, 2018 with lots of lessons on its trail.
Governor Ayodele Fayose would have beaten Dr. Kayode Fayemi with a wide margin but for the people he took for granted thinking he was still enjoying the 2014 Federal might he enjoyed under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Osun State governorship election is slated for September 22, 2018 while the primary for All Progressives Congress is to hold on July 19, 2018 in the state.
As usual, there had been power tussle among the gladiators since 2017 with a rumour that the governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has an anointed candidate, that is, Gboyega Oyetola.
This had been denied severally by the governor but the more he denied this the more people see the flames coming from where it was covered.
There and then, we started hearing some nasty insinuations about ‘home based’, ‘Ajele’ (Politicians living outside the state), it is the turn of the West Senatorial District while many are saying ‘Osogbo lokan’.
All these are what is bedeviling the state APC, what seemed to be a rumour is becoming a reality. Oyetola is waxing stronger with a rumour of a godfather from Lagos which the governor cannot counter.
There is nothing bad having an anointed candidate by the governor, after all, no matter how a father or a mother pretends they must have a child among all the children they would have as their first love over the rest. This is normal except we are deceiving ourselves. Those accusing the governor would do same, even worse.
What is bad is, not given a level playing grounds for all to play.
All the aspirants contesting are capable and qualified to govern Osun state without exception. To concede the governorship candidate to one particular area might not be the best of option in democracy, but to be seen swinging the pendulum to a particular candidate will not be in the best interest of peaceful coexistence in the party
In the spirit of fairness, there is no reason why it should not be the turn of Osun West since there are many qualified candidates in this area. It is not a right but a privilege to carry all the people along.
The people have started seeing the hand writing on the wall that party leaders are bent on imposing a particular candidate hence the purported removal of the State Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun and State Secretary, Alhaji Shansile, assault on journalists and the proposed boycott of all aspirants of West Senatorial District of the state from participating in the APC primaries on Thursday, July 19, 2018.
The latest racour is how the candidate would emerge, while the National Headquarters opted for Direct Primaries, most of the candidates opted for delegates of the party to decide to decide their fate.
In view of the glaring development, it is imperative for the leaders of APC in the state including Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Bisi Akande, the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole come together to the rescue of the party before it is too late. All the aspirants should be invited urgently for a round table agreement on which method to use to bring about a flag bearer for the party.

Except if the leadership has decided to trade away the goodwill of the party built by the governor over the years and concede the state to the opposition.
The postponement of the primary election is inevitable to resolve this crisis amicably. Because going into this primary with a divided house will tear APC apart in Osun.
The voice of the people is the voice of God; it would be a disaster for APC generally if the opposition party is allowed to take over from Ogbeni Aregbesola on September 22, 2018. God forbid!
The time to intervene is now before it generates further beyond the control of the party hierarchy.
Please give the people what they want for peace to reign.
He who must go to equity must go with clean hands.
It is not too much for the people to ask for;
 Transparency
 Equity
 Justice
 Fairness
 Peace

Peace can only reign under the present dispensation in Osun State, if there is evidence of justice at the top.
As at the time of filing this report, there is nothing to show that there is any plan for primaries slated for tomorrow.
There is no guideline yet for the aspirants neither is there any voters list given out for verification.
Let me end with the word of our elders. “A stitch in time saves nine.â€
