The Corps Commander of the Osun Amotekun Corps, Dr. Hon. Omoyele Isaac Adekunle, has expressed his gratitude to Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for signing into law Prosecution of cases and integrating Amotekun into Civil Service Scheme.

 

In a statement issued to the press in Osogbo, Omoyele hailed Governor Adeleke as a visionary leader, records breaker and effective administrator, emphasizing his commitment to the welfare of the people and his attentive governance.

Omoyele particularly commended the Governor for the passage of the law, which empowers the Osun Amotekun Corps to prosecute criminals in court, further strengthening the agency’s capacity to maintain law and order in the state.

 

This new authority will significantly strengthen the agency’s ability to carry out its duties more effectively, ensuring that criminals are brought to justice and enhancing the rule of law in the state.

The new law also provides enhanced protection for Amotekun officers, from obstructing and attack on them during their official duties made as a prosecutable offence, punishable by law for one year in prison or a fine of Two Hundred Thousand Naira.

This provision is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of Amotekun officers, who often work in challenging and sometimes in dangerous environments.

Additionally, the law integrates the Osun Amotekun Corps into the state’s Civil Service Scheme, ensuring better benefits and recognition for the officers. This new innovation under the leadership of CORPS COMMANDER OMOYELE is expected to bring numerous benefits to Amotekun officers, including better welfare packages, jobs security, and recognition for their hard work and dedication to safeguarding the state.

 

The inclusion of the Corps in the civil service structure reflects the importance of the Amotekun in maintaining law and order and ensures that officers will have the same rights and privileges as other civil servants in the state.

This landmark development is seen as a major step forward in enhancing the effectiveness of the Osun Amotekun Corps and improving security across the state.

Dr. Omoyele remarked the bold step taken by His Excellency as a decisive leader is a testament to the Governor’s commitment to building a safer, more secure, and prosperous Osun State.

Omoyele expressed optimism that the law would pave the way for a more effective and well-resourced Osun Amotekun Corps, ultimately leading to a more secure environment for all residents of the state.
