OSUN State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode on Thursday, October 20, 2022 was decorated as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba.
IGP decorated Olokode along with other 464 Senior Officers in Abuja.
In a Press Statement signed by the IGP available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, Usman Baba said the promotions is a continuous exercise to deserving officers who were chosen based on merit.
The IGP thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his continuos support.
“I heartily welcome you all to this event which marks the decoration of another set of newly promoted senior police officers with their new ranks.

2. This event like other previous ones under the current Force leadership was guided by the principles of seniority and merit. It also took due cognizance of the unblemished service records and invaluable experiences of the benefiting officers.
3. Under this current exercise, a total of four hundred sixty-five (465) officers were promoted to various ranks and I assure you all that the exercise will continue towards ensuring that deserving officer are elevated as and when due. Indeed, the continuous identification and promotion of deserving and qualified personnel of the Force remains one of the cardinal agendas of my leadership.

This is because of my firm conviction that promotion serves two key purposes in the Nigeria Police as in other organizations.
First, it is a reward for service excellence and a motivational initiative.

4. Second, it is a critical administrative instrument for elevating and repositioning competent personnel towards the attainment of our critical internal security mandate.
