TOURISM: Osun Takes A Bold Step As Gov Oyetola Unveils KARELE OODUA LOGO Today

The State of Osun in collaboration with Osun Youths has put everything in place to celebrate the 2019 World Tourism Day like never before in the State on Friday, September 27, 2019.

According to the Press Release from the office of Culture and Tourism signed by Mr. Samuel Adeniyi, “On 27th of September 1980 The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) decided to establish World Tourism Day”

“World Tourism is celebrated yearly to create awareness among the societies globally on the significance of tourism and its social, political, financial, cultural values and the contributions the sector can make in reaching the sustainable development goals.”

The theme for this year’s edition is: “Tourism And The Jobs: A Better Future For All.”

This year’s World Tourism Day is meant to showcase the tourism potentials in the state to bring about economic prosperity for the wellbeing of the residents.

According to the Coordinating Director, Mr Adeniyi, “A Road Walk at 7:00am, starting from the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park,Osogbo will terminate at the Centre For Black Culture and International Understanding behind the State of Osun Secretariat at Abere in Osogbo.”

The Centre is the venue where the 2019 World Tourism Day will be celebrated with the Royal Fathers, government officials, youths, market men and women.

Exodus International Academy in collaboration with the Office of Culture and Tourism, National Youth Council, Queens Touch and Osun Tourism Stakeholders Association have put finishing touches to paint Osogbo red for tourism Walk and lecture.

The O’Yes Cadets, Youth Corpers, Students, professionals, government officials and other stakeholders are to assemble at the Mandela Freedom Park at 7.00am for a walk to where the governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola will receive them at the expanse hall of the Centre For Black Culture at Abere.

O’Ambulance will be on standby while security is guaranteed.
