Members of the general public have been alerted to be wary of a fake publication requesting application from the general public, trending on the social media, with the title “Welcome To FG 5 Billion Naira Osun State Palliative, purportedly issued by the Ministry of Finance.

 

 

 

 

According to a statement issued and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akeem Bello, members of the public are advised to discountenance the publication in its entirety, as it did not emanate from the Ministry of Finance or from the Osun State Government, but intended to mislead and swindle them.

 

 

 

 

 

The statement reads in part, “The attention of the Osun State Government has been drawn to a publication trending on the social media, purportedly issued by the Ministry of Finance titled, “WELCOME TO FG 5B NAIRA OSUN STATE PALLIATIVE” requesting application from the general public on the palliative programme.

“This is to inform the good people of Osun state that the said publication did not originate from the Ministry of Finance or from Osun State Government. Members of the public are therefore enjoined to disregard the publication as it is intended to mislead and swindle the people.

“At the appropriate time, the State Government will issue information on palliative measures, which will be released to the public through designated government agencies and verifiable official channels.

 

 

 

 

“The Characters behind the fake and fraudulent publication are hereby warned to desist from this illegality, as Government has alerted the security agencies to unveil those behind the act and prosecute them accordingly when arrested”, the Permanent Secretary concluded.
