OSUN Police Command arrests, parades nine hardened robbery suspects in Osogbo (PHOTOS)

THE Osun State Police Command on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 paraded nine suspected hardened robbers in various parts of the state.

Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Yemisi Opalola said  the criminals are living with the residents and if they refused to report them to the Police they might be the next target. According to her, these criminals have not mercy for anyone including their parents.

Six armed robbery suspects were paraded in one operation. The names of the suspects whose state of origin is Kano but are living in Lagos.

They came to operate in Osun State where they were arrested. Their names are; Ibrahim Yusuf (34), Lawal Abubakar (25), Umar Abubakar (35), Sule Muhammed (20), Salisu Ismail (31), Habeeb Saidu (27).

Exhibits at the point of arrest includes,

1)  One Mercedes Benz C-Class
2). One cut to size Pistol
3).  One live Cartridge
4).  One Knife.

Fact of the case:.

“On 15th June, 2023 at about 0630hrs,  about 0100hrs of same date the Complainant picked four (4) passengers from OPIC PARK, Ogun State  heading to Abuja  with unregistered Mercedez Benz car.

But on getting to a point around Ikire jurisdiction,  the said passengers forced him to stop and started shooting to scare him,  while struggling with them, he was stabbed with a knife at his left hand,  pushed him out of the vehicle and suspects went away with the said 4matic Benz car.

 

 

 

 

 

 

He further stressed that; he can identify the suspects if seen. Immediately Police received the report, a team of Policemen on stop and search along Ibadan/Ile-Ife Express Way, Gbongan was alerted, but when the suspects sighted the Policemen, they abandoned the said car and took to their heels and escaped to the bush.

Police did not rest on his oars; combed the bush where two of the suspects were arrested. Efforts put in place by Anti-Kidnapping Squad yielded more result whereby four other suspects were arrested in Lagos State.

Meanwhile, Investigation is still ongoing.”

In another development, three suspects were arrested for unlawful possession of firearms which includes; One Locally made Pistol, 10 locally made Dane Guns, one pump action and one live Cartridge.

The suspects are, Akano Olasunkanmi (20), Monsuru Ali (25) and Tunde Alabi (42).

“On 17th June, 2023 at about 1230hrs, Police operatives of Safer Highway Patrol along Okepa Junction, Osu, Osun State  intercepted Akano Olasunkanmi ‘m’ and Monsuru Ali ‘m’ both of store village, Ilesa on the motorcycle; unlawfully in possession of a cut-to-size pistol.

In the course of discreet investigation by the operatives of Anti-Kidnapping squad,  Akano Olasunkanmi confessed to be the owner of the gun. He further state that, sometimes in the year 2022, one Tunde Alabi ‘m’ of Agbede quarters, Toro Road, Modakeke, Osun State made the gun for him at the rate of N30,000.

However, the alleged Tunde Alabi was arrested and one live cartridge, one pump action and Ten locally made barrel guns were also found in his possession.

Meanwhile, suspects will be charged to court after the completion of investigation.
