OSUN State Police Command has debunked the news that the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode was redeployed from Osun State as a result of Police brutality and inefficiency.
This statement was issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Opalola Yemisi Olawoyin on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in a Press Release made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, http://(www.sojworldnews.com), she said the CP was redeployed being the usual practice by the Police authority anytime election is around the corner.

“The attention of Osun State Police Command has been drawn to the news making the rounds that; the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode was transferred by the IGP due to many petitions from various sources about the lack of effective coordination on the part of the CP to properly coordinate his men and Police brutality in the State.
The Osun State Police Command wishes to inform the members of the public and to set the record straight that the news is misinformed and misleading. The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usamn, psc (+), NPM, fdc, redeployed the Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode to Provost Office, Abuja to avoid any kind of speculation or insinuation that the sitting CP might be romancing or aligning with any political party towards the forthcoming governorship election in the State.
Meanwhile, the redeployment of the sitting commissioners of police during election has happened in other States in the past. A new Commissioner of Police, CP Julius Alawari Okoro has been posted to the Command purposely for election duty as against the bad drop that the former was redeployed on the bases of incompetent as being speculated.
The CP Election has arrived the State on 3rd July, 2022 and resumed duty/office today 4th July, 2022 following the redeployment of CP Olawale T. Olokode psc, to Provost Mashal office, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The CP Election is soliciting for the cooperation of all and sundry, especially during this electioneering period, while enjoins the good people of the State to be law abiding and go about with their legitimate businesses without entertaining fear of insecurity as necessary security measures to forestall any likely breakdown of law and order has been put in place.
