The State of Osun House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon Timothy Owoeye has admonished the Osun Online Media Practitioners to be professional and objective in the discharge of their daily activities.
The Speaker who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Shittu Olaitan said his interactions with the Online Media is to appreciate their services rendered to the state and the community so far.
He said he appreciated the service rendered to the community by the members of the association and also seek how the group will partner with the state.
He said he is aware of the importance of the media as the fourth Estate of the realm and urge them to ensure that stories to be dished out to the public are verified and authenticated.
He said the Assembly under his watch will not only operate an open system but also be friendly with the media.
In their reaction, members of the OOMPA led by the Secretary, Jare Tiamiyu advised the Speaker to stick to his words by ensuring that journalists are given enabling the environment to operate.
The members’ took turns to narrate their experiences and make recommendations to the Speaker as they vowed to be diligent, balanced and authentic with the reports.
