MISS Umeh Kamsiyochukwu who emerged as the overall best student of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board Examination in Nigeria after scoring 360/400 points has won a scholarship of N2.5 million to study Chemical Engineering at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Nigeria.
Umeh Kamsiyochukwu, a student of Deeper Life High School, Ogun in Nigeria scored the highest point in the United Matriculation Board Examination. Her outstanding achievement earned her a scholarship from the government of her state.
The Anambra state governor, Governor Chukwuma Soludo announced it through a statement issued by his press secretary. He congratulated Kamsiyochukwu on making their state proud with her exceptional performance.

“The Governor has announced a well-deserved scholarship for her to study any course of her choice at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University,” the statement said.
“The scholarship will not only serve as a token of the state government’s appreciation for her hard work but also provide her with the opportunity to pursue her dreams and contribute to the development of the state in the future,” he added.
Umeh was also awarded 2.5 million naira cash price from the Chief Executive Officer of Erisco Foods Limited, Dr Umeofia Eric. He expressed his admiration for Kamsiyochukwu’s academic excellence and emphasized the importance of encouraging and rewarding exceptional students.

Kamsiyochukwu scored 99 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics, 97 in Physics, and 66 in English totalling 360 points in the examination. Her impressive score garnered her recognition and praise across the country.
In an interview, Kamsiyochukwu shared her excitement upon learning of her score, stating that she was in school when the results were announced and she immediately went to meet her counselor and called her parents to share the good news.
“When it was announced that JAMB had released the result, I was in school and I went to meet my counsellor. I also called my parents to check for me. When I called them that day, my mum told me the result. My parents were excited. I particularly could not contain my joy. I wanted to shout at the top of my lungs; I was incredibly excited,” she said.
Kamsiyochukwu will be furthering on her education at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University in Nigeria to study Chemical Engineering.
