The protesters invaded the secretariat few hours before the commencement of the meeting of the national caucus of the All Progressives Congress.

Leading the protesters, Peter Oyewole, attempted to block the main entrance of the party secretariat, but they were politely turned away by the policemen on duty.

They, however, made their feelings known as they sang and danced in Blantyre Street where the party secretariat is located.

Some of the demands listed on the various placards they were carrying read: “No to non-elective convention;” “APC must support anti-corruption;” and “Audit APC account now.”

On sighting the party chairman’s convoy driving into the secretariat, the protesters raised their voices to high heavens, calling for his sack.

It would be recalled that 17 APC governors boycotted a meeting called by the National Chairman of APC. There are indications that the Chairman is no longer enjoying the support of the governors.

Aftermath of the Ondo APC primary elections, Senator Bola Tinubu called for his resignation.
Events that will unfold in the coming weeks will determine the fate of Chief Oyegun as the National Chairman of APC.
