The cat and mouse game between the Nigerian Police and Senator Dino Melaye came to a head this morning with the arrest of the controversial senator.
According to a tweet the embattled senator posted on his Twitter account on Monday morning, he was arrested on his way to Morocco for an official engagement.

Melaye tweeted: “I have just been arrested at the international wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport on my way to Morocco for an official engagement sponsored by the Federal Govt after checking in.”
Recall that the police had declared Dino Melaye wanted. The lawmaker was declared wanted alongside Mohammed Audu, son of a former governor of Kogi state, Abubakar Audu.

Police said the duo have also been placed on Interpol watch list for allegedly providing false information to the police in relation to an allegation of attempted murder on Melaye’s life sometime last year.
The running battle between Senator Dino Melaye started when the senator was named by a criminal in the Kogi axis implicating the Melaye in arms supply.
The two major suspects escaped from the police custody but were later rearrested.

The whole world is watching what this new arrest by the Nigerian Police become since Senator Dino Melaye has written a letter to the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris that he would not get a fair trial in Kogi State.
The senator’s fear was not unconnected with his running battles with the governor of the state, Senator Dino Melaye.
Would Senator Melaye be tried in Kogi or not? Time will tell.
