The 40-year-old Remilekun was killed last Thursday by daredevil armed robbers who attacked the Police Station at the time she was on duty.
The attack left eight cops dead, three of whom were women, before proceeding to rob a commercial bank located in the sleepy community.
Remilekun’s corpse, conveyed in a hearse from the Isanlu Mortuary, was followed by sympathisers to a cemetery in her hometown, Ekinrin-Adde, where she was buried.
The deceased’s sister, who is also a policewoman serving in Ekiti State, identified only as Ibidun, told our correspondent in an exclusive interview that the manner of Remilekun’s death was painful.
“We are sad with what happened. But we rest our hope in God. We trust Him to protect us and the only son she left behind,” Ibidun stated.
Tears flowed freely from the eyes of sympathisers as the white casket bearing the policewoman’s remains were lowered into the grave.
