Popular Radio Presenter Foster Is Dead – FRANK IDOHO, BOVI, OTHERS PAY TRIBUTE

Nigeria based American radio personality Dan Foster has died.

Foster who was best known for his morning show on Cool Fm died on Wednesday morning according to reports.

Foster worked with numerous radio stations in America before moving to Nigeria in 2000 where he joined Cool FM. A year later, he received an award for Best Radio Presenter of the year. He also won 2003, 2004, and 2005 Nigeria Media Merit Awards for ‘Best Radio Personality’.

In 2004 and 2005, he was named “Media Person of the year” by the City People Awards. He was also the Creator and Director of the Cool Fm Praise Jam Concerts that have taken place since 2004, with a total of over 22,000 people in attendance.

Foster left Cool FM in September 2009 for Inspiration FM but left in 2014 to join City FM. In May 2016, Dan Foster left City FM 105.1 to join Classic FM 97.3 radio station where he worked until his death in June 2020.

Foster was a judge on the one-off Idols West Africa series, alongside Nigerian Dede Mabiaku and Ghanaian Abrewa Nana. He was also a judge on Nigeria’s Got Talent alongside actress Kate Henshaw and comedian Yibo Koko.

Nigerian have taken to social media to pay tribute to the late radio veteran.

Cool FM radio presenter, Do2dtun said Foster gave him strength and saved his job:

“He saved me my job.. Such a story!.. he kept me regardless.. look at me now.. “The Big Dog” Dan Foster put it all in for me and us at Coolfm. What an OAP…. The best morning show host till date in Nigeria. This is a big loss”

Former host of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Frank Edoho tweeted:
“I just got off the phone, my friend Oscar confirmed that Dan Foster has passed on. This is a very very dark year. How can I overcome this unending melancholy. Rest in Peace, dear Friend.”

Comedian Bovi:
“When I moved to Lagos in November 2003, Dan Foster was one of the reasons I didn’t run back home to Delta State. I tuned into Cool Fm one morning and Dan made me love radio. Rip big dawg! I’m sad you left. But I’m happy your mark remains forever !”
