THE TableShaker, Reno Omokri has come out again to proffer solutions to downward slide of the Nigerian Naira.

In a recent tweet available to SOJ WORLDWIDE, Reno who wore local Yoruba outfit, ‘Aso Oke Agbada’ to promote cultural heritage and to contribute into helping Naira its value by patronizing local products. He said he has ordered for Innoson Vehicle, bought Glo and local Kilishi for his friends.

This is what Reno Omokri said, if only we can adopt his opinion and be loyal to made in Nigeria products and services, the desired change we desired will come in no distant period.

Unless we improve our balance of trade position by exporting made in Nigeria goods overseas, the Naira will remain low in value.

That is one reason why I flew to Nigeria, ordered this aṣọ òkè agbada, got a roamed Glo SIM card, put in an order for an Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing car for my company, and a bought a box full of made-in-Nigeria kilishi to give out to friends and family.

I also instructed that cement from Dangote and Ibeto should be used on a 50-50 ratio in the student hostels I am building in Nigeria. I flew British Airways, only because there was no Air Peace flight between London Heathrow and Abuja.

Currently, $10 billion is repatriated out of Nigeria annually by providers of foreign goods and services, like MTN, DSTV, Shoprite, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Toyota, to mention a few. It is okay when companies like Siemens do it because we need them and we do not have a made-in-Nigeria alternative.

But it is economic sabotage against Nigeria to use a foreign made good or service when you have a Nigerian option.

The foreign product may be better, but the more you patronize the Nigerian product, the better they will get. It is a sacrifice.

We must realise that the reason a company like MTN has the level of service it does is because South Africans sacrificed and patronize MTN when they were not as good as Vodacom, which was also operating in South Africa.

We must do the same for Glo and if you can’t help me promote made-in-Nigeria, please at least don’t bring your negativity here and bad mouth Glo, Dangote, Innoson and other Nigerian products. Patronize Nigeria and your patriotism will increase the value of the Naira and your purchasing power. May God bless you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
