Robbery suspects with two stolen cars paraded by OSUN Police Command

TWO robbery suspects identified as Abdulwasiu Jato (47) and Kolawole Iwalaye (39) were on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 paraded by the Osun State Police Command with one Toyota Muzzle Camry 2009 with Registration Number KUJ 619 DB and Toyota Corolla 2012 Model with Registration Number KSF 407 HW.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

According to the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Kehinde Longe, the Chassis numbers of the two cars valued at N12,465,700 have been changed at the point of the arrest.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

“On the 11th May, 2023 at about 1930hrs, the complainant reported that, he was attacked by a three man gang; fully armed with guns and other dangerous weapons at his residence.

The gang  ambushed him in his house and dispossessed him of his valuables such as Phones, Jewelries and two Cars, a Toyota Camry car of 2009 and 2010 model valued at (N12,465,700), the suspects also carted away other personal documents.

 

 

 

 

Subsequently, intelligence gathering led the detectives of the Anti-kidnapping squad of this command to Ilorin where the duo of the receivers; Abdulwasiu Jato ‘m’ and Kolawole Iwalaye ‘m’ were arrested on 10th July, 2023 in possession of the said Toyota Muzzle Camry 2009 model property of the complainant and another Toyota Corolla 2012 model which is also stolen vehicle.

 

 

Further investigations revealed that, the original Chassis Number of the Toyota Camry car which was 4T1BE46K694360899 had been re-written to read 4T1BEA6K09U804357, with Registration Number KUJ 619 DB registered with Abdulwasiu Jato’s name. Meanwhile, the original owner of the recovered Toyota Corolla is yet unknown.

Efforts are still ongoing to arrest the perpetrators and recover other stolen properties.”
