MUNIRUDEEN ATANDA: Former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore was conspicuously absent at the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) primary election conducted on Wednesday.

Mr Munirudeen Atanda was selected as the governorship candidate of SDP in the September 22, Osun governorship election.
Atanda was picked on Wednesday at the party’s primary, which took place at the SDP Secretariat on Gbongan road, Osogbo, amid tight security.
Sen. Iyiola Omisore, was also listed as aspirant on the ballot paper, he and his supporters did not participate in the exercise.
Chief Ademola Ishola, the SDP Chairman in the state, told party members after the exercise to disregard the insinuation that another faction of the party exists in the state.

Ishola also called for dedication from members, urging them to reach out to residents of the state to support SDP in the governorship election.
NAN reports that the primary election was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission and the National Orientation Agency.
