CHIEFTAIN of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Commissioner of the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke popularly known as BANIK has picked holes in the running of the affairs of the state under Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Speaking at the 8th Edition of the Media Parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) at its Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State, BANIK frowned at how the Governor allegedly lied and deceived residence of the State on various occasions.
He said the security situation in Osun state has worsened since Adeleke took over, like what is happening in states ravaged by the Boko Haram terrorists in northern Nigeria.
The former Commissioner cited instances about the incident at Egbedi in Egbedore Local Government area in Osun where the Kabiyesi raised alarm of gunmen displaying sophisticated weapons attacking innocent citizens.

“The hoodlums were moving around with sophisticated weapons, the video is everywhere. When you see the weapons they carried you will see they actually went for war. We saw some particular members of the community who were wounded, some were carried to the hospitals. According to information I heard, some died.”
“Up till now the government has never addressed or arrest any of the hoodlums seen in the video. There is no peace in that community.“
“He cited another crisis in Esa-Oke where Police were killed with video evidences, people were also killed because of wrong decision of those who were in government.”

“The community claimed that the person installed as Kabiyesi is not even from that community.”
“Governor Adeleke moved the site of airport deliberately from Ido-Osun to another place without any reason. As we speak there is no peace in Ido-Osun.”
He also cited the protests against the Amotekun recruitment where candidates were allegedly sent back home for no just reasons. He said they were replaced by new set of people they brought to the camp.
He also mentioned the crisis in Erin-Osun, Ilobu and Ifon that escalated under the watch of the governor. Many lives were lost and billions of Naira properties were destroyed. “Within 18 months of this administration there were eight crisis.”
He said the crisis was nipped in the bud when it reared its head during Gboyega Oyetola administration.
The plaques of 332 health centers renovated by the Oyetola were removed and replaced with that of Ademola Adeleke.
“We revitalized 332 health centers during the regime of Oyetola, they remove the plagues and replace it with that of Adeleke.” He queried why this should be so.
BANIK said there was a whopping difference of N47 billion Naira in the second phase of the infrastructural budgets in the State. According to him, the sum total the Osun State Government presented under Adeleke was N159 billion Naira while the actual amount calculated by the opposition party was N121 billion Naira. He wanted the government to explain the huge difference of N47 billion Naira and what it is meant for.
“It is a disgrace for the people of Osun State to have a difference of N47 billion Naira.” he said.
He said he wanted the State Government to account for the 114 tractors they reduced its number to 30, yet no one can even see the whereabouts of any of the tractors.
