TODAY, Friday November 8, 2024 is a special remarkable day in the life of our ‘Birthday Boy’, Pa Daniel Olusegun Dada as he clocks 80 having weathered through thicks and thins from the day he was born on November 8, 1944.

 

SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS gladly went through the memory lanes of Pa Daniel Olusegun Dada popularly known as ‘DOD’ by his friends and close allies.

 

 

Profile

Pa Daniel Olusegun DADA (fondly called DOD) was born in Igbo Ewiwi village close to Odogbo/Eyingun on the way to Eti-Oni in Ilesa, Osun State on the 8th November 1944 to the family of Chief Elezeri Dada ALABE.

His mother, Madam Victoria Olaitan Alaaji DADA, last born and 11th child of her mother, Mrs Sangotola and Pa Iyun Arapete Oyingbo of blessed memory.

Education:

Olusegun was born to an educationally disadvantaged lineage of many wives and children to his father while he is the fourth and only male to his mother who extended unparalleled degree of affection, care, desire and efforts to see him excel educationally in life.

 

After his first Primary Education, Olusegun enrolled in Ife Grammar Secondary School in 1958 and completed it in 1962.

He gained employment into London & Kano (L&K) Trading and Company Ltd in July 1962 but due to voluntary liquidation he lost the job in 1964.

 

When he was in the employment of L&K Trading Company Ltd he was privately learning Typing and Shorthand which gave him good results of RSA examinations in 1965 that made him gained employment into the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity on the 4th September 1965.

After 7 years of employment he resigned to join Philip Morris Tobacco Company Ltd, New Niger House, Marina, Lagos in 1972 as Confidential Secretary and left the company to join Pfizer Products Plc in 1974 as Confidential Secretary.

 

In view of his competence the company was repeatedly changing his position to Employee Relations Assistant, Employee Relations Officer and forcefully to read for Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (IPMN) Examinations which to the glory of God he graduated in 1992 that led to change of Positions to Personnel Manager and lately Human Resources Manager (HRM).

 

In 1983 he attended One week International Pfizer Personnel Management Conference in Maurateus Island below India.

 

Also in October 1994 Mr Dada was selected for one week Industrial Relations Exposure in Turkey and Seized the opportunity to spend his Annual Vacation in London.

Due to Buy-over of Pfizer Products Plc by the Management Staff of the company to change the company to Niemeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc, Pa DODada resigned his position in the company on 31st December 1999 to incorporate his own Recruiter/Training company in the name of Grandee International Company Ltd in the year 2000.

Pa DODada is married with children qualified as Pharmacist, Nurses and Computer Scientists.”

 

The Thanksgiving Service for the birthday celebration will hold on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Awomolo Methodist Cathedral Church, Iwaraja Ijesa, Osun State at 10.00am prompt.
