The article below was a response to those who cast aspersions on our medium for daring to say Ajimobi was critically sick and needs our prayers:
BETWEEN FAKE AND AUTHENTIC NEWS
SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS published a news story on the health status of ex-Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi that was deteriorating and that only miracles can save him, therefore he needs our prayers. Three days later he died.
We received barrage of attacks from those whom we thought should know better, some of our readers called us many names.
Some said, “was it not Ajimobi that had been discharged and seen in Ibadan?”, some said, ” you are a bastard Yoruba man.”
Can a figure like Senator Abiola Ajimobi be discharged and not seen or publicised for the whole world to see? They didn’t see him yet they believed.
Nigerians believed more of fake news than authentic news.
SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS do not believe in fake news, we do not have any reason to blackmail any individual, group or organization or spread fake news. We hate it with perfect hatred. We would rather remain poor than to indulge in blackmailing or spreading fake news.
We prayed for Ajimobi’s quick recovery because he was an achiever for the eight years he paddled the canoe of Oyo State, he was a good manager of men and resources.
His infrastructural development of Ibadan and Oyo state in general was second to none. We stand to be corrected.
His legacy in Oyo state is there for all to see.
There was no way we could have wished him dead but God knows why he had to leave at the time he did.
May God Almighty give his wife, children and all his admirers the courage to bear this irreparable loss.
We received the insults on Monday, June 22, 2020 for saying Ajimobi’s health was deteriorating and the two-term governor of Oyo State gave up the ghost three days later on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
Where is the Ajimobi that was discharged and spotted in Ibadan???
We are not saying we are perfect, only God is, but we are striving to get to near perfection.
