“Stay Alive, Say No To Suicide” Campaign Rally Storms Osun – SEE PHOTOS

A group known as Yali Network, Osun State chapter stormed the capital city of the state, Osogbo on Friday to create awareness against depression and suicide that is prevalent in the country in the past one year.

The campaign took the group through the heart of the city, Olaiya junction to Ayegbaju International Market to Ataoja High School where the students were sensitised against Monday seminar at the school compound.

The convener of the group, Miss Queen Aderemi said she was moved to tears when she heard of a 17-year-old committed suicide in Osogbo a day after her birthday for just no tangible reason.

She set into action for the campaign before the ugly trends destroy Nigeria’s future leaders.

She told the SOJ WORLDWIDE Online News at the end of the campaign that she has started receiving calls and testimonies from the people whom they came across while campaigning along the most popular road in Osogbo.

She said of particular note,

“was a man who stopped us on our way home to narrate how his young sibling attempted suicide a couple of days ago. It through God’s intervention he was saved.”
“He invited me and my colleagues to visit them to counsel the victim against suicide. Why suicide is not the option but to ‘stay alive’.”
“The downfall of any man or woman is not the end of their lives”

The group is to hold a seminar against depression and suicide at Ataoja High School, Oshogbo where about 2,000 students will be in attendance.  The program is to commence from 8.30am prompt.


The campaign of “Stay Alive, Say No To Suicide” is to go to every nook and cranny of the state and beyond in the next couple of days.
