OPINION: Victor ADEWUSI
It is no longer news that Ife people generally voted for PDP in the last 2015 election. President Mohammadu Buhari of All Progressive Congress, APC lost woefully in Ile ife. Senator Babajide Omoworare also of APC lost in Ife Federal Constituency, he is a grandson to the late Sir Adesoji Aderemi, he was rejected by his very people with so much votes deficit and it was Ijesha votes that made him scaled through to be a member of the Senate.

Honorable Rotimi Makinde was the candidate of the APC at the Federal House of Representatives slot. He was in 2015 regarded as the best representative ever produced in that capacity.
He had several motions and bills to his credit coupled with high sense of responsibility and generosity to his people, he was reported to have given out not less than 100 motor vehicles, 300 motorcycles and series of scholarships to empowered his constituent yet he lost.
Hon Tilewa Sijuade is a Prince of Ife, the late Oba Okunade Sijuade of blessed memory was indeed his uncle. Hon Sijuade was fielded as an APC candidate to represent Ife Central Local Government at the state assembly, he was equally billed to be a ranking person in the house but his royal blood could not help him. He was rejected by Ife and the later death of his opponent, late Hon Oladejo (Igwe) Makinde which created another opportunity to make a retrial in a bye election was also with no success story, Ife people again voted out APC. A certain Hon Adeyela alias Astoria was also a one term Honourable under the regime of Gov Olagunsoye Oyinlola, he was fielded by APC to represent Ife East, he was formerly of PDP, he crossed to APC and got assembly ticket to represent his people but he also lost his bid to return to the house.

APC was totally rejected by the Ifes in all categories.
However, it was a different story in the other two local governments that made up Ife Federal Constituency. Ife north voted for APC and so also Ife South and thereby making Ife East and Ife Central the Minority Leader and Deputy Minority Leader of the assembly respectively in Osun state.
Hon Albert Adeogun the present member of the House of Representatives retired from custom and excise just like Chief Fadahunsi who was PDP candidate against Senator Omoworare of APC, he was also a Comtroller General. They both defeated the duo of Makinde and Omoworare in Ife in the 2015 election.
The bad news is that Hon Albert Adeogun has continued to strive to ensure he meet up with the unprecedented achievements of Hon Rotimi Makinde who served between 2011 to 2015.

Adeogun could not hide under the fact that he is serving under APC led Federal Government as opposition for his predecessor, Hon Makinde too also served under President Jonathan led government as an opposition and yet he was able to record so many landmarks in terms of achievements which includes touching palaces positively and buying cars for some Obas to mention but just a few.
Hon Adeogun is about 74 years of age, he was somehow lucky at 70 when the Ifes jettisoned the likes Makinde, Omoworare and Astoria in their 40s, what an irony of life!
Not just Hon Adeogun but the remarkable achievement and moral burden placed on virtually all present Representatives in the state of Osun to beat the records of achievements of both Hon Rotimi Makinde and a certain Hon Wole Oke is becoming references to many serving legislators.

Gladiators of various offices and from different political parties are also dusting their achives, drawing their manifestoes to face the people who are ready to confront them with their pedigree and how best they intend to beat the records like that of Hon Rotimi Makinde.
