Tragedy as Thunderstorm kills 12-year-old girl in Jigawa

Lightning has killed a 12-year-old girl, named Maryam Rabiu Garba amidst heavy downpour in Kaugama Local Government, Jigawa State.

A resident told Newsmen that the incident happened on Monday evening when the girl was taking shelter in a classroom as a result of heavy rainfall.

He said the girl was going back home after her mother sent her for an errand.

 The Police spokesman of Jigawa State, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
