TRAGEDY! Pastor Dies While Conducting Funeral For Church Member

The unthinkable happened in Akure when a Pastor who conducted funeral for his church member who died recently also died before the end of the funeral he was conducting.

The mysterious death of Pastor Femi Olorunsoromidayo has thrown his church members into deep mourning in New Fatula, Oke Aro Area, Akure , Ondo State.

The Hope Metro gathered that the deceased, Pastor Femi Olorunsoromidayo, 42, founder of Divine Mount Zion Gospel Ministry , reportedly died during the burial service of one of his members, identified as Elder Samuel Rotimi at Erusu Akoko.

A reliable source said the late Elder Samuel Rotimi, aged 78, was shot dead some days ago by unknown gunmen in Akure, and was taken to Erusu Akoko North West Local Government area of Ondo State for burial, where the pastor reportedly met his untimely death.

The 42- year-old cleric, from Idanre Local Government area of the State, with his church headquarters in Akure, was said to have earlier received the corpse of his church member, Elder Rotimi, from the State Hospital in Akure for burial arrangements.

It was learnt that the 78-year-old elder, had earlier instructed the cleric during his life time that he should be buried in Akure whenever he died and not in his home town.

The deceased sexagenarian was said to have saved an unspecified amount of money with the pastor to bury his corpse, while he promised to add more to the money before his untimely death.

After the death of Elder Rotimi, the pastor reportedly acted against Elder Rotimi’s wish as instructed, and was supported by the immediate family members of the deceased.

Also, the Head of the deceased family at Erusu Akoko, was said to have called and instructed the cleric to move the burial plans to Erusu against the instructions of the deceased.

“Since the late pastor including his immediate family had limited authority over the burial plan, the late cleric arranged for an ambulance which took the corpse to Erusu Akoko, alongside his family members and some church members.

An eye witness told our correspondent that, while conducting the burial service at the graveyard, the pastor started feeling unconscious and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Akoko, where he was confirmed dead.”

It was learnt that the ambulance which conveyed the remains of the late church member to Erusu for burial, was also used to convey the corpse of the pastor back to Akure.

Late Pastor Olorunsoromidayo, was described by his church members as a devoted man of God, full of passion , ” who would give you his last kobo just to see you happy.”

The Hope Metro learnt that the cleric would be buried today in his church in Akure.
