A student was swept to his death after falling into a river while taking a selfie. The young man, identified locally as Rohon Mishra, fell into a waterfall located at a popular picnic spot in India’s Odisha state.
Bystanders ran down to the water’s edge to try and help him but could only watch on in horror as he splashed in the water. The incident occurred at Bhimkund waterfall, a popular tourist attraction located among lush green forest.

According to local reports, authorities have opened an investigation into his death and despite the launch of multiple search and rescue operations, his body could not be retrieved.
