Two brothers, Yinka and Ayodele Adewuyi were arraigned in court on Monday at the Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ile-Ife for assaulting official of the Ibadan Electricity Distributing Company (IBEDC).
The police prosecutor, Emmanuel Abdullahi, said the defendants committed the offence on November 11, 2019, around 10.30am at the Titilope Sawmill, Ita-Osa, Ondo Road, Ile-Ife.

According to him, the defendants assaulted the IBEDC official, Kareem Adekunle, while performing his lawful duty.
Abdullahi said Adekunle suffered pain all over his body as a result of the beating, adding that the actions of the defendants contravened Section 351 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun State, 2019.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the one count of assault preferred against them.

Kanmi Adetunji, who represented the defendants, applied for their bail with a pledge that they would provide reliable sureties.
Ruling on the application, Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety each in like sum.
