Makerere University Management In Uganda Has Banned Students And Parents From Carrying Their Cell Phones, Camera To The Graduation Ceremony, Which Kicks Off On Monday, Feb 13,2022 At The Institution’s Main Campus In Kampala.

According To The Chairperson Of The Ceremonies Committee, Prof Patrick Mangeni, Said Phones, Cameras And Video Cameras Are Prohibited From Freedom Square.

Faculties have been assigned different graduation dates across the week.

No reason was given for the banning of cameras at the graduation square, but other items prohibited from the ceremony include alcohol, cigarettes, canned foods and bottled drinks.

The University Is Set To Graduate A Total Of 13,221 Graduands, Of Whom 6,809 Are Female And 6,412 Male, Are Expected To Graduate During The University’s 73rd Graduation with each allowed to invite only two guests

The Minister Of Education, Ms Janet Kataha Museveni, Is Expected To Grace The Ceremony Alongside The Vice Chancellor Of The University Of London, Prof Wendy Thomson.
