UNITED Bank for Africa (UBA Plc), one of the biggest commercial banks in Africa has announced early daily closures to all its staff and customers over security situations nationwide.

The bank stated that the action is being taken to ensure the security of both its employees and customers in an email that was sent to its customers on Thursday September 1, 2022.
The communication, which was viewed by Newmen, did not however mention the impacted branches and the revised closing time but a reliable source told SOJ WORLDWIDE that,
“Our closing time is now 3pm: Starting from September 1st all our branches will be closing by 3pm.”

This is the first occasion when the country’s deteriorating security situations has compelled a major commercial bank to reassess its national closing time. Prior to recently, some banks had to change their daily work schedules due to the high cost of diesel.
