The National Electoral Commission has declared additional results for new state governors-elect in more states across the country, this includes, Cross River, Delta State, Zamfara State. Katsina State, Borno State

Gov. Benedict Ayade has been re-elected as governor of Cross River for the next four years.

Announcing the result on Sunday in Calabar, the State Returning Officer, Prof. Akim Ibhadode said, Ayade, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won the election with 381,484 votes.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) scored 131,161 votes while social Democratic Party (SDP) had 4,818 votes.

DELTA STATE

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has been declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state, having polled majority of the votes.

Okowa was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okowa defeated Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to retain his seat for another four years.

He was declared the winner of the poll by INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Seth Acrajaja of the Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

The result of the poll showed that Okowa polled 925, 274 votes to defeat Ogboru by a landslide, who got 215,938 votes.

BORNO STATE

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Babagana Zulum, winner of the governorship election in Borno.

Declaring the result, the INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof. Alhassan Gani, said Zulum polled 1,175, 440 votes to beat his closest opponent, Muhammad Imam, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 66, 115 votes.

ZAMFARA STATE

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Monday declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mukhtar Shehu, winner of Zamfara State governorship election held on Saturday.

The result announced by INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Kabiru Bala, showed that Shehu garnered 534,541 votes to beat the PDP’s candidate, Bello Muhammad, who polled 189,452.

KATSINA STATE

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Gov. Aminu Masari as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Katsina State.

The Returning Officer for the governorship election, Prof Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, Vice Chancellor, Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, said that Masari polled 1,178,864 votes to defeat PDP’s Sen. Yakubu Lado, who scored 488,621 votes in the election.
