UPDATE: Chaos in Osun over Obaship tussle, Oba’s Palace shut dawn

Reports just reaching SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWs said there was crisis in Ikire over obaship tussle on Monday, October 26, 2020.

The ancient town of Ikire is the headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

Scores of irate youths according to information gathered Chiefs, members of Akire in Council were chased out. The palace of Akire of Ikireland, Oba Olatunde Falabi was shut dawn by the irate youths

The rampaging youths besieged the place at around 10 o clock in the morning and as a result leaving residents of the town in palpable fear.

A reliable source who spoke to us on condition of anonymity said Nigerian Army patrol was destroyed and two soldiers were disarmed.

Unconfirmed report had it that two army officers were kidnapped.

The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Oplalola confirmed the incident but said she was not aware that any army officers were disarmed or kidnapped.

Casualty figures is yet unknown as at the time of filing this report.
