ONE of the accused, Oyetunde Kazeem was in the witness box on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo to defend himself over the alleged murder of MBA-Executive student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State, Timothy Adegoke on November 6, 2021.
Kazeem was asked how he conspired with owner of Hilton Honours Hotel, Rahman Adedoyin to hide the white Hilux Van from the public view in Abuja after it was used to convey the corpse of Timothy from the hotel to where he was buried along Ife Road.
Kazeem claimed he has never driven any car before, never been to Abuja and he doesn’t know how the Hilux got to Abuja.
He said, “when the police came ,they used their vehicle to take us to Abuja, after we have spent a week with the police officer in detention.
“We got to Abuja. the police beat us and took me out and showed me an Hilux Jeep and asked if this was the jeep they used to dump Timothy Adegoke dead body and I answered them I don’t know.”
“The reason was that the vehicle that was shown to me doesn’t have a plate number”
He was asked, what else did the police do?
Kazeem answered,
“They took me back to the cell, they told me to writé a statement,they wrote the statement for me”

Kazeem: No, ,they told me to sign on the statement and I signed
Did Adeniyi Aderogba and you, Kazeem conspired among yourself to steal an iPhone and laptop and blue bag of late Timothy Adegoke?
Kazeem: I didn’t conspire with anybody to steal any phone or any belongings of Timothy Adegoke.
Did the police accuse you of stealing those items?
Kazeem: I already went to the village and came back before they told me they saw a dead body in the hotel room,and beside him was his phone ringing ,they saw all his properties ,the police told me we would go to grandma place tomorrow, we went to grandma place and they asked Grandma questions and she answered them and they wrote statement for her, the police still followed me to my house in Ejigbo they broke the door in, and searched everywhere and couldn’t find any Timothy Adegoke’s belongings?
Kazeem was asked several questions on what he knew about the murder of Timothy Adegoke and whether he conspired with Rahman Adedoyin and five accused persons.
Femi Falana is on stand now with probing questions to Kazeem on his roles on the murder of Adegoke.
