The case of Sunday Igboho in Cotonou, Benin Republic Court was adjourned till tomorrow, Friday, July 23, 2021.

The separatist activist who is believed to have been arraigned on immigration-related offences was returned to custody till Friday.
After the adjournment, neither Igboho’s lawyers nor the Beninese counsel spoke on what transpired in the court.
Igboho and his wife have been in custody since their arrest at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, as they attempted to board a flight to Germany on Monday.

SOJ WORLDWIDE learnt from court officials that the court ruled that Igboho should be returned to custody.
“They just finished from the court. The wife is to be released this night and Sunday is to remain in custody. The matter was adjourned till Friday,” an official said.
The Secretary of Ilana Oduduwa, Mr Adeleye on TVC 10PM News said Igboho’s wife was released, her passport returned to her and she has no case to answer.

He went further that Benin Republic denied the Federal Government of Nigeria landing permit for their helicopter to repatriate Igboho back to Nigeria.
