THE youths in Ubiaja have recovered two of the cars used to cart away cash from the bank robbery that occurred in Uromi Town, Delta State where five banks were simultaneously attacked and robbed on Thursday, February 24, 2022
According to a message sent by Lizziano Ventures, the youths mobilised to intercept the robbers at a Railway Crossing where they abandoned their cars and cash to escape.
“Update On The Uromi Bank Robbery
Ubiaja is a neighbouring town to Uromi, just about 10mins drive. After the bank robbery yesterday in Uromi, the robbers took the Ubiaja route in a bid to escape but Ubiaja youths on knowing this, mobilised and moved to block their road by the rail line. Seeing the road had been blocked, the robbers their vehicles loaded with the stolen cash off the rail line. They fled using motorcycles.
One of them was caught
The vehicles and cash have been recovered and counting still ongoing at the Ubiaja police station.
An arrest as also been made.”
