UPDATE: Osun Govt reacts to alleged dilapidated structures at Olumirin Waterfalls

The Osun State Government has reacted to the allegation levelled against the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Osun State that the structures at the Olumirin Waterfalls, Erin-Ijesha, Osun State were dilapidated.

A member of the Osun House Assembly member, Hon who incidentally is a member of PDP alleged on his Facebook Page that the only structures at the place were put in place by the PDP administration.

Reacting to the allegation was the Commissioner of Culture and Tourism, Dr. Adebisi Obawale in a chat with the Editor-in-Chief of SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS, Adesoji Omosebi on Friday, March 5, 2021.

Dr Obawale said,
the comment is unfair, unjust, untrue and inciting. It is unfair because APC constructed 90% of the structures put in place at the Okemirin Waterfalls.”

“I start from the steps, the steps that go into the fall was upgraded and constructed by APC government, the roads from the expressway through the town to the tourist centre was constructed by APC government.”

“To get there you will see a beautiful fence by the entrance, ticket house by the right hand, a new building, changing room, male and female was constructed by APC government.

“The Stair Case were Upgraded and constructed from the First floor to second floor

from the Second Fall to the Third Fall was constructed by APC government.”

“So I can boldly say it that the 90% of the structures of what you can see there today were put in place by APC government. I don’t know where they got their information.”
Dr Obawale added that it was the new structures put in place at the tourist centre that increased our incomes at the centre.

“iI is important that we don’t play politics with obvious legacies and we should desist from derogatory statements capable of pitching the community against government. Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is making frantic efforts to turn Olumirin into world class destination and that is why the site is part of the state vision 30-30, he added.
