THE Association of Nigeria Nurses And Midwives-Federal Health Institutions (ANNM-FHI) has alerted the Federal Government of incessant and unprovoked attacks on its members in the Federal Hospitals across the country.

In a statement issued by the National Chairman of the association,Comrade Morakinyo Olajide Rilwan made available to SOJ WORLDWIDE on Thursday, he said it is more worrisome, the spate at which members of the association are physically assaulted by the Doctors and patient call for immediate action from the authority concerned before it gets out of hands.

“The Association of Nigeria Nurses And Midwives – Federal Health Institutions Sector, which is an umbrella body of nurses working in federal health hospitals wishes to call on Federal Government, Federal Ministry of Health, the security organizations and relevant bodies to wade into the issue of WORK PLACE VIOLENCE against nurses all over the country where they are being physically attacked and assaulted without provocations. Doctors and patient relations now vent their angers on nurses just because they are the first point of contact and closer to patients throughout hospitalization.
This ugly trend is not just happening but the spate at which this ugly trend is going, if not curtailed, may affect accessibility of health care delivery by other innocent citizens.
