THE Corps Commander of the Osun State Amotekun Corps, CSP Isaac Adekunle Omoyele (Rtd) on Thursday, March 20, 2025 said he knows the modus operandi and the tactics of the terrorists and their plans to infiltrate the Southwest region.

 

He said they came under the guise of performing magics of commanding monkeys, guerilla to the admiration of onlookers who will be carried away with their magic. Then, at night, they attack innocent residents.

 

Dr. Omoyele was speaking at the 7th Media Parley organized by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) at their Secretariat in Osogbo on Thursday, March 20, 2024.

 

He said Osun Amotekun with other states Corps Commanders and security agencies in the Southwest have collaborative efforts to reduce criminality to the barest minimum in the region.

 

When you see strange movement and strange faces call our attention. Sometimes they came with dogs to enter into the bush in order to attack our people. When you see such people, report to our office.”

 

Dr. Omoyele went further that a toll-free number will soon be released to the public for the benefit of people in distress to call the attention of the security outfit for quick intervention.

There is going to be ‘standby unit’ at the headquarter and at all the Local Government across the states to attend to distress calls. The Governor has approved it. It is absolutely free of charge”

 

To improve efficiency, Omoyele emphasised the importance of regular training and retraining of Amotekun personnel to keep them updated on modern security strategies.

 

Our officers will continue to undergo training to ensure they are well-prepared to handle emerging security challenges,” he assured.

 

He called on residents of Osun State to cooperate with Amotekun by providing timely information that could help in crime prevention and security operations.

 

Omoyele reaffirmed Amotekun’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging stakeholders to support the corps’ efforts in ensuring a safer society.
