Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane has stated that there is no reason Liverpool cannot put up a good fight during the Champions League this season.
During the 2017-18 season, Liverpool reached the final of the UEFA Champions League (in which sadio mane played an integral part) before they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid back in May.
The Senegalese, who scored a total of 10 goals in the Europe last term, believes the Reds can only benefit from their last season run, which saw Jurgen Klopp’s side eliminate Manchester City, Roma and FC Porto.
“It was a very big sign for us. It was a bonus for us to learn and get those kinds of experiences,†ESPN quoted him as saying.
“We have played [big games] already and we know how. Now we have to do the same work and the experience we had in the past will help.
“It’s very early to speak about it but it’s why we’re always here working: to do anything possible. We have the quality and everything to go throughout [the tournament], so why not? Why not?â€
Liverpool will know their group stage opponents for the 2018-19 season today, with the Reds being placed in Pot 3 for the draw.
