GOVERNOR of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke on Sunday, February 23, 2025 conducted official swearing-in for the Chairmen and Counsellors of 30 Local Government areas at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
In his remarks, Adeleke congratulated the newly sworn-in chairmen and urged them to prioritize the welfare of their constituents. He called for transparency, accountability, and a commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy at the grassroots level.
The governor also encouraged the chairmen to work closely with state authorities to ensure harmonious and effective governance across all tiers.
He said he was satisfied that they are on the side of the law.

He told the Chairmen to deliver their mandate under the platform of the PDP.
“Be an agent of change for the State. We will not fail you, people’s welfare will be our watchword.”
“Stay away from the council secretariat to avert crisis. We will rely on the court. Be patient and abide by the rule of law.”
Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde in his keynote address congratulated the newly sworn-in Chairmen and Counsellors admonishing them not to forget the promises they promised.
“Don’t forget the promises you made to your people. It shall be a stepping stone to your greater heights.
Myself and the Chairman of the PDP Governor’s forum, the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed are here to solidarize with Adeleke.”
Makinde added that the Southwest governors gathered in Lagos recently for the interest of the nation.
“We must tackle our common problems together to allow peace to reign; we don’t want a return to the ‘Wild Wild West’ era.”
“They should stay away from this zone, there is a process let them go through in. No federal might, This is a federal arrangement.”

A minute silence was observed for those who died in the Local Government crisis across the State.
Among those who witnessed the historic occasion includes, Governor Seyi Makinde, Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, former Governor of Osun State, Olagunsoye Oyinlola.
Others include; Senator Lere Oyewumi, Senator Olubiyi Ajagunnla, Hon. Bamidele Salam, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Lasun Yusuf, Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, Osun Lawmakers, the SSG, Chief of Staff, Head of Service, Tajudeen Oladipo, Wole Alabi, PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi. Fatai Akinbade and others.
